Having lived a life filled with external expectations of love, validation, admiration, praises, props, companionship, and affection, and dealing with the weight of giving more to get more, what a relief to be able to live a life without the weight of being seen as PERFECT. Setting health boundaries begins with the ability to choose oneself above everything else. My name is Roselyn Amaka O, and I am on a journey of life filled with thrill, bliss, and unending freedom from trying to be perfect. I have chosen to live IMPERFECTLY. In my imperfect life, I will find the beauty of crooked ways straightening out as I take one step after another. The days of arriving at the final stop before the journey begins are over. The pressures of what lies ahead will wait until I get to the destination called “ahead.” For now, I will enjoy this step and bask in its joy.
